A Stitch in Time

Make Art Monday!
My friend Melanie, of Earthenwood Studio, made these terrific steampunk-inspired ceramic beads and sent a bunch to me to play with. This is what I made:

***FREE STUFF ALERT***FREE STUFF ALERT***

I’ve got two sets of spacer beads and one tile, all in black and white, left over from this project. The beads […]

Time to Run…

Make Art Monday!
I’ve been loving the steampunk look lately. Probably because of my several-years fixation on Dr Who :-)
I’ve got a notebook filled with Victorian and Edwardian designs that I’m in the process of morphing into steampunk. Here’s my first:

Pieces came home from Jewelry Crafts!

A whole boatload of my pieces came home recently, and I’ve been able to add most of them to my website. A couple of them already had homes to go to, so I didn’t bother to add them. The ones that are now living over at Mazel Tov! Jewelry Treasures are these:

Ocean Lariat

Are you a collector?

Make Art Monday!

Those of us who are true collectors of beads and baubles are never at a loss when we travel to a new place. We just instinctively know that we must take something home with us to help us remember…and if it already has a hole through it, so much the better! These places […]

Andromeda’s Pearls

Make Art Monday!
Well, the piece that you’ve been suffering along with me while it’s been in progress is done…and it actually has a name without me having to beg for help! Amazing. It’s made from pearls, pearls, pearls, and more pearls. Also, seed beads, crystals, and assorted glass beads and shells. Yay…it’s done!

A scrumptious cherry donut

Make Art Monday!

Be careful when you buy so-called “Cherry Quartz”…it’s glass, and not a stone at all! It’s a pretty color, and as long as it’s inexpensive, go for it, but be careful how you label it if you’re planning on selling your piece.
Tomorrow, I’ll outline the quick and easy steps to make this necklace.

A beaded bead necklace

Make Art Monday!
I’ve been pretty productive since my daughter went overseas to study in Italy for a semester! I don’t necessarily recommend sending your playmate away just to get work done, but that seems to at least one good thing about the spring…I miss her, but I can concentrate uninterrupted ;-)
Tomorrow, I’ll be showing you […]

Royal Pearls necklace

Make Art Monday!

Royal Pearls
This is another necklace that I’ve made for Jewelry Crafts magazine.  I’ll be sending it off real soon for inclusion in an upcoming issue.  It’s a pretty mixture of brass filigree and freshwater pearls.  Very feminine, but not too sweetsy!

Run-around turquoise necklace on the cover of Jewelry Crafts!

No, it’s not the same as being on the cover of Rolling Stone, but I’m still pretty happy :-)I’ve got two articles in the March/April issue of Jewelry Crafts magazine, and one of them is sitting right on the COVER!!

Run-Around Wrapping
The second article is for a very easy lariat necklace in an ocean theme for […]
