Magazine Review: BeadStyle Magazine

by Cyndi on March 5th, 2008

beadstyle.jpg

The publishers of Bead&Button also have a lovely magazine that is designed for those who are a bit less interested in seed bead projects and who would prefer more quick and stylish projects. There are good beginner projects here, but these are not just beginner projects…make no mistake about that! BeadStyle is designed for those who just don’t have enough time to complete huge complex projects, and it is published in between each issue of Bead&Button.

***Free Magazine Alert***

I’ve got three free copies of the March issue of BeadStyle to give away!!  Simply leave me a comment below, and next Wednesday I’ll draw three lucky names out of the hat!

Fabulous! While I absolutely adore Bead & Button and have it on subscription, I’m not a seed beader so simpler mags are of more use to me (not that I make set projects - but I DO want to write for them!)

Quick projects are all I have time for lately, LOL. You must be getting pretty famous if they are giving you free stuff to give away!

Your blog is a “find”. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I am new to beading and totally hooked. Not enough hours in the day to do all I would like.

I love Bead and Button, but lately I’ve only had time to do less time consuming projects. BeadStyle looks like it might be right up my alley!
    Thanks!

Should I be embarrassed to admit (well, other than that I can’t spell that word) that I didn’t know “why” one publisher had two separate Bead magazines? I have purchased both.. have a subscription to one of them and buy the other, um, probably each time it’s published… now, i have to read your blog entries from the past month or so to see what other good info I can partake of!

This is a wonderful blog. I love the tabs on the right side and what it links too. I need more time to go through it, but what I have seen is WOW. Keep up the great job and I’m going to go through the links when I have time here and there.

I really enjoy your blog, I am a house bound disabled person, with no friends or family that enjoy beading, so sites like yours “keep me company” and give me the feeling of interacting with like minded people. I love Bead Style, but I am on a VERY fixed income, and mostly bu old issues on ebay when I find them low enough. Hope to win, but even if I don’t, I really do love your site!! Thanks, Dani

Every year when I go back to the US for Thanksgiving, I look for beading magazines, as I’m not able to find them in English here in France. I’d love to have the opportunity to win one!

    Hey there Cyndi,
Just checking in, been a while since I visited.
Always like looking at US beady mags, I don’t buy Bead and Button because I’m not a seed beader as you know, but I have on occasion been known to purchase bead style here in Australia. Just wish my local Library would subscribe to more of these, then I can use my pocket money for beads instead of mags…lol

    Hi Cyndi,

A friend forwarded a link to the call for entries for Tammy Powley’s book that you posted back in September (I have two pieces accepted for that - many, many thanks for posting the information). I’ve been checking in with your blog regularly ever since.

    Thanks!

Well, BeadStyle may have simpler projects, but it is still nice to see and be inspired by whatever other people do. At any level, it’s nice to be able to say, “Now, THAT’S an idea!” I’d love a copy of BeadStyle!
