A Project Runway shocker!

Well, did you see that coming? I sure didn’t! My daughter and I both predicted going into the episode that this would be Sweet P’s last week. Much as we love her for her wearable fashions and sweet disposition (she’s well-named, isn’t she?), we just couldn’t see her wowing the judges with something over the top. And we were right about that. I’m sure that not having her model show up for the fitting was a terrible blow, but the bottom line was that the design was too simple. Which is exactly why I liked it but the judges didn’t :-)

We also both predicted that either Rami or Chris would be the other “auf”. Wow. That’s all I can say…wow. Chris made the same dress a second time, one that he wasn’t even the chief designer for the first time. Not a good choice, even though the dress was spectacular. And Rami insisted on draping again, even though he’s been told each week that he needs to show something different. His dress was also gorgeous, but he had to know that Nina wasn’t going to be impressed, even though I was! Oh well, it’s ultimately more likely that I will be buying his clothing than that Nina will ;-)

I don’t know what to say about either of them though. I love both of their designs. No one does draping as well as Rami, and that will obviously be his signature look forever. Chris, well what can you say? He’s amazing and fun and very very talented. I will hate to see one of them go two weeks from now.

However, can we talk? If Rami is constantly going to be shot down for draping, when are the judges going to say something to Christian about his puffy sleeves and tight legs? Another 80s-looking outfit. An amazing outfit, yes. And one that beautifully interpreted the painting that he chose. All things considered though, I really thought the win should go to Jillian this time. Is there anyone else in the group with such as eye for detail and such an understanding of how to flatter her model’s body? She’s terrific. So is Christian, but she is my favorite throughout this competition, with her much broader repertoire of ideas. Even with all her dithering and stressing. That’s because she pays such close attention to detail.

So what did you all think? Did the ending catch you by surprise too?

It’s actually Jillian’s model, but Jillian is cute too ;-) Her work is gorgeous, isn’t it?

I have been watching the show for 3 seasons now, the fact they picked 4 going into the final show is not a new outcome. The reason that Christian does so well is his experience with the top designers in London. He just knows what they (the judges) will fawn over, no matter how unrealistic it may be to us simple folk. That is the reason that im almost possitive he will be the winner, if not him then definately Jillian.

Really good point, Cindy. I’m pretty sure that Christian is going to win too, but Jillian is still my favorite :-)

I hope Christian doesn’t win! He’s rude and he reminds me too much of Jeffrey from last season. I have liked Jillian from the start and hope she wins.

Yeah, he *is* rude, but he’s also a pretty typical 21 year old prodigy! The rest of the crew seem to genuinely like him…for the most part…except when he’s in the act of being snotty :-)

I think Christians awesome. You really have to know him to know that hes not rude or snotty. Nobody should say bad things about him. You cant judge a book by its cover. Or by what they act like on the show.

On the contrary, he has presented himself specifically *to be judged* in all ways by appearing on this “reality” show. If you have some inside knowledge of him, you’re welcome to share it, but we are certainly all entitled to our opinions about him based on how he presents himself.

I have already said that the rest of the crew seems to like him, and elsewhere I’ve mentioned that he has been very helpful to others. However, that does not mean that he’s without fault :-)

I seem to disagree with everything cindy is saying. Christian was my neighbor. Hes a really friendlyy guy who is always willing to give instead of take. He was really excited to get on this show, so when he wins or if he gets mad, step away!

Step away? Whatever. It’s great that you know and like him, Kylee, and thank you for sharing that. But no one is going to be shocked when he wins. I think all of us are already expecting it. It’s very exciting that someone that young is able to compete in a field that usually takes years and years to break into. We’ve said he’s a prodigy. If you are just objecting to our assessment of his personality as portrayed ON THE SHOW, then there’s nothing more to say.
