I received one of these a few years ago as an ornament for my Christmas tree. My friend had made it, and included was a small slip of paper that told the story of the Christmas spider. The basics of the story was the family was too poor to decorate their tree and the spider in the rafters felt sorry for them. She came down and decorated the tree with her web. I am sure this story could be found online, and they really do make excellent Christmas gifts.
