Don’t Forget Your Local Bead Shop
Not every town has a bead shop. Mine doesn’t, but there is one in the next town. So, we aren’t talking a super long drive. While sometimes bead shops can be a little on the pricey side for those of us who have gotten used to buying wholesale, nothing beats the “one on one” you can get from a quality bead shop.
Beadshop.com, for example, offers a regular assortment of classes and provides a schedule on-line for local customers.
Sometimes, even if you don’t have time to take a formal class, if the staff is knowledgeable enough, you can ask a few questions and get going in the right direction.
Also, a lot of bead shops these days have more going on than just bead stringing; some offer lampwork classes or metal caly as well. So, before you look too far away from home, make sure you call or stop by your local shop.
