William Holland Lapidary School

A super inexpensive get-a-way slash jewelry school experience is found at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts located in Young Harris, Georgia. This is sort of camp-ground setting, so those who don’t like to rough it might not be too thrilled with the accommodations. But, the cost of these week-long classes is super economical and they have pretty much every sort of class you can imagine from lampworking to metalworking.

It is evident that you have never been to William Holland Lapidary School. It has hook-ups for those who wish to drive their RV’s. There are nice clean rooms with private baths, 2 beds, AC & fan. This is not the Hilton, but a great facility for the superb training we receive. There are 3 wholesome meals a day, and you can even wear your old clothes. MB

First of all, I never claimed to have been there. I apologize if you read it that way. However, I have had a number of friends who have gone there and they told me exactly what I wrote, that it is a camp ground setting. So, if you are like me and don’t like to camp and don’t own an RV, you may not be too thrilled.

Hi- I teach classes at Wm Holland. There are 2 lodges there and great fully equipped classrooms. There IS a campground area for those who do have RV’s, but this is by far not a “campground setting”. I think “mountain setting” would have been more appropriate. Some people just prefer to bring their campers to save on lodging! The classes are week long and there are 3 meals a day. The main lodge sits atop the mountain with a great wrap around deck where you can set and enjoy the mountains around you. There are great teachers and alot of experience there!! The comments made seem to be really misleading, so I hoped to clarify it for you. It is really worth every penny and more that you spend there. Oh- the buildings are heated and air conditioned also. The classes and more info is on their website- http://www.lapidaryschool.com for anyone interested.
