Job Requirements International publisher of general interest reference books seeks innovative individual to manage the promotional efforts of its craft & hobby category. We’re seeking the perfect person to develop creative solutions that will enable us to retain our competitive edge in an ever-changing category.

Applicants must have a proven track record in the publicity and marketing of craft & hobby books; with detailed knowledge of the soft craft, sewing, paper craft, mixed-media and jewelry making categories. The ideal candidate is a dynamic individual with a passion for crafting and a
keen knowledge of craft trends and the ideal way to reach out to today’s tech-savvy crafters and “craftsters”.

Daily Focus: Marketing Development
*Coordinate strategic marketing plans for the craft category and for the individual books on the craft & hobby list
*Coordinate advertising plans and schedules for trade & consumer magazines
*Coordinate promotional activities for retail and specialty channels
*From concept to creation, coordinate innovative collateral material including press releases, media kits, flyers, brochures and promotional items

Publicity
*Cultivate strong relationships with freelance writers, editors, bloggers, and producers in the niche/craft media
*Maintain current media lists
*Develop targeted broadcast, print, & internet media campaigns for the category and for the individual books, including the creation of media kits & press releases
*Execution and follow-up for each campaign
