Lampwork Bead Book
Another route to take in glass jewelry making, other than fused glass, is to learn to make lampwork beads. This way, you can make beads for your own stringing needs. Presonally, while I have taken some lessons in this and tried it myself, I found it to be not my thing. I much prefer fused glass. However, I do suggest trying it out, or at least educating yourself about it if for no other reason than you understand the quality and skill needed to make these wonderful beads.
Cindy Jenkin’s books is sort of the bible of lampwork bead making. She has step by step color photographed instructions, and I’ve had a few people tell me they basically sat down with her book and just did each one until they got it.
