For those traditionalists, you can find instructions here: Traditional Knotting. Pearls can be delicate and you don’t want them to rub together too much, so knotting is a good way to keep a little distance between each pearl bead. Knotting is also helpful in case a necklace breaks. This will keep the beads from going […]

This is one of the first methods I learned for knotting between beads. Pearls, in particular, are good to knot with, and actually, due to their delicate nature, it is a good idea to knot between them. I learned this from an intensive jewelry making I class I took many years ago, and the instructor […]

Side-drilled pearls are beautiful, but they can also be a buger to try to design jewelry with. I came up with these earrings as a way to incorporate them into dangle elements at the end of the earrings: Side-Drilled Pearl Solution Earrings.

Of course, I had to make a complete set for my prom pal, and I wasn’t sure what she wanted as far as a necklace. Thus, I ended up making one for her that was adjustable. It combines chain sections with pearls, crystals, and hematite hear beads. Plus, it has a sterling heart bead at […]

Jane Austen is one of my all time favorite authors, and awhile back, I designed a number of earrings named after her novels. This one is called Mansfield Park Earrings, and inspired by her character in this novel, Fanny Price.

For a long time, I made very simple earrings. We used to call them rocks on a stick (my DH and I). Then one day a gallery owner said to me, in a not so nice tone, that all my earrings looked alike. “Wasn’t there any way I could make something different, like hoops?” I […]

Here is another pearl earring option for wire jewelry workers: Pearl Dangle Earrings. Just add in a little gold-filled wire and a few crystal beads and you can make these as long or as short as you like.
