Jewelry & Beading

Silver at Blake Brothers

Years ago when I was more actively selling my jewelry, I also used to sell finished silver jewelry to help subsidize my inventory. I lived in Orlando at the time, and the Blake Brother’s warehouse was just a short drive from where I worked. (I had discovered them at a wholesale jewelry show).

So, I would bee-bop over there during lunch, buy about $100 or so dollars of jewelry (their new warehouse min. is $200), and get back before it was time to punch the clock again.  Along with selling the finished jewelry next to my own beaded jewelry, I purchased chains and other findings-related supplies to add into my designs.

Since then, both of us have come a long way. Blake Brothers still have their warehouses (and if you ever get a chance to go to one do it, be prepared because they have a huge amount of silver jewelry), but they also now have a pretty good web site with on-line catalogs.

If you haven’t guessed from my post so far, they are wholesale only. So, you have to have a tax ID number, and you have to purchase a min. amount, $200 for warehouse and $100 for their web site. But, for serious jewelry makers in the business, you can get some seriously low prices.
