Creative Palette is Here!
One of the things I told myself when I finally graduated is that I will be free to start participating in arts and crafts and bead shows. Not that I did a whole lot of that before I returned to school, but there are so many conventions these days that I feel I should really considering going to a few.
About five or six years ago, I went to the BeadExpo when it was in Miami, and it was a great experience. The class I took was only so-so, but just being around so many bead lovers and hanging out with my beady friends for a few days was a real treat.
Next month comes another show that I keep saying I’m going to go to some day, Creative Palette. This is considered a mixed media show because just about every medium is represented from wire to clay to paper arts. The lists of classes for this show is 26 pages long!
This convention is held next month, Feb. 7th through the 11th in St. Marys, Georgia. And it’s on my list of places to go some day.

How do I find out about Bead Shows? I am hoping that one comes to San Diego but so far I have not run across anything. Thanks!

Check in just about any bead/jewelry magazine like Bead & Button, Beadworks, or Jewelry Crafts. They usually have a listing of shows.

I haven’t seen anything about this one before this year! Have you gotten any feedback on it?

I heard about it originally from the Yahoo Altered Book group, where I’m a long time lurker. It is supposed to be awesome. The have a huge number of classes, and most of the prices weren’t too bad compared to most bead shows these days.

I’m a member of that group too, but I missed it somehow!
How about we arrange a field trip some year?
