Jewelry & Beading

Future Jewelry Plans, and Etc.

by Tammy Powley on October 28th, 2006

October is almost behind us, and with that means I will (hopefully) have most of my school work behind me. A few short months later, and it will be 2007. I don’t like to count my chickens just yet, but I can’t help thinking about all the jewelry-related and nonjewelry-related things I’ll be able to do soon such as…..

  • Clean my corner studio [It is so far gone now that I couldn't make any jewelry there even if I did have the time.]
  • Clean my office [I'm still writing...obviously...but now my piles have piles on top of them. Looks like the testing ground for North Korea around here.]
  • Finish reading The Sound and the Fury [I'm not a big Faulkner fan but I just have probably 30 pages or so and I'm done.]
  • Start working on a new jewelry making book proposal [I've got a few ideas, hopefully can get going on this by Janurary..any interested book editors out there?]
  • Start on a redecorating plan on the house [This, of course, includes setting up some nice jewelry making space for moi]
  • Write some egg-head type articles about crafting [Got to get the CV fleshed out a little...and I think academics need us crafters to shake things up a little]
  • Start back on my regular exercise and diet routine [Which means blogging more over at fatand40]
  • Work more on other crafts such as altered books and book art in general [I have a neat anniversary book I started for my parents...just one of many projects]

Okay, well, you get the idea. I’m really going to miss school in a way, and if I do manage to graduate that means all that pressure from those folks who have been giving me the “what are you going to do when you graduate” grilling, but I’m really starting to look forward to having my life back again

I’m sure I’m not the only crafter/writer/woman/person who deals with these issues, not just of time, but of expectations. With the new year coming, also comes new opportunities. So, start thinking now…what if…
