Mixed Media Jewelry Book Final Touches

I am finishing the final touches on my mixed media jewelry book. I just received the manuscript yesterday from the copyeditor. She’s the one that gets to count all the beads in the projects and make sure they add up correctly. Fun job!
It is still kind of hard to picture the whole thing at this […]

Butterfly Crystal Set

I received some gorgeous Swarovski crystal butterfly beads fro Jerry Smith Beads - www.jsbeads.com - and was inspired to make a complete set.
Pictured above is the Rainbow Crystal Butterfly Bead Bracelet. I’ve also made a pair of matching earrings and a matching necklace, which is adjustable.

Designers’ Advice also for Jewelry Makers

While browsing Coutorture, I found this post from The Runway Scoop about another blogger, Making Things. It’s about tips for those who want to “make it” in the fashion industry, and since that includes jewelry designers, I thought it was worth a read: “Making Things” - What The Industry Is All About

Project Runway Accessorizes!

First, I have to say that I LOVED this week’s challenge for the gang on Project Runway. They were each allowed to choose a doggie muse from a group of adorable little muts and were told to dress both the dog and her/his fictional owner, whom they also had to create a narrative for that […]

Bead Book Bargains

Hurry up! The Interweave Press Hurt Book Sale is almost over. The sale ends this Friday at 5pm mountian time.

Swarovski Crystals for Everyday

They have some gorgeous beaded […]

New Supplier Discovery

Actually, I can’t say these guys are new or even new to me because I’ve seen ads before for Ornametea.com in various beading and jewelry magazines for years, but I just really started looking at their site after being contacted by the company to check out some samples, including someof their very cool fiber beads.
They […]

Keys to My Jewelry Heart?

I ordered these metal keys from John M. on his etsy site. I’m not 100% sure what I plan to do with them, maybe wrap some wire on the ends and use them as pendants on a necklace, a chain perhaps?
But, I just had to have them. I love finding unusual jewelry components like these.
