Got a Jewelry Web Site? Then Use It!

by Tammy Powley on August 1st, 2005

Just a quick post here about jewelry makers who have web sites and don’t answer email or keep their site updated with new merchandise. Hello! How do you think you’re every going to make an on line sale if you aren’t on line selling? It’s just the same if you had your own brick and mortar store but you were never open.

I’ve been emailing a few artists concerning my new Jewelry Artists Profile section and have noticed how often no one even replies to my email. What’s the point of having a web site if you don’t use it? Okay, maybe they’re just ignoring little ‘ol me, but I think more so they had their friend “Bob” make them a web site for whatever reason and they don’t even have their own email address.

Too bad. How many other people (potential customers) have they not emailed back?

Hi, been lurking for a while enjoying your beading and jewelry posts. :)

It’s not just jewelry makers who have sites and don’t respond to emails. An independent healthy food grocer lost a nice fat sale when they didn’t respond to my email. (I wanted to give my brother & his fiance a big gift certificate for their wedding present, and they’re anti-big corps and pro-healthy living.)

I would be you’re probably right. I’m baffled as to why people would go through the time and expense and then not do something as simple as reply to an email.
