Jewelry & Beading

New Jewelry Artist Profiles Section

by Tammy Powley on July 27th, 2005

I’m happy to announce that I’ve got a new section to the Jewelry and Beading blog: Jewelry Artist Profiles. There are so many wonderful jewelry artists out there. I come across at least one a day while I’m surfing the net. I thought it was time to take a look at some of these talented individuals up-close, find out what inspires them to create unique jewelry designs, and learn about their creative processes.

I’ve got a few profiles in the works, so keep an eye out for up-coming blog posts. And, of course, if you know of an artist or make some fabulous jewelry yourself, don’t be shy about letting me know.

Thank you for all the helpful insight and opportunity you make available through the web. I have learned a lot from you. I am green at beading having begun a little over a year ago, but have finally found my passion at the ripe age of 54. Keep up the great work!
    Sincerely,
    Doc

I, Melinda Jernigan, a wife, mother of 9, (plus a son and daughter-in-law) and artist, understand God had designed and created each of us to be different and unique. Just as the Lord has designed us each to be unique individuals, I have a deep desire to use the creativity He has placed in me to design and produce items made by my own hand - meaning each piece is one of a kind. If more than one item of the same kind is needed, (each one may vary slightly), chalk it up to artistic flare!

My hand beading and wire work includes the use of a variety of materials: sterling silver, swarovski crystals, semiprecious gemstone, Czech glass, some plated materials, and found objects: guitar picks. I have a wide range of style from Classic to Casual ~ Fun to Funky…Traditional to Exotic.

Custom orders (weddings, graduations, Mother’s Day, Prom, Christmas…) are available and encouraged. Personalized service is one my specialties. I am passionate about my art and love to work with other passionate, art-loving people. Contact Melinda Jernigan: contact@mpdesignsjewelry.com
