Beginning Jewelry Makers - Start in May!
Why is May such a good month to learn how to make jewelry or to learn a new technique if you’ve already been making jewelry for awhile? Because every May, Lapidary Journal has its special issue filled with places to learn jewelry: schools, clubs, societies, and other organizations are all places for the beginning jewelry maker (whether you want to learn to bead, wrap wire, solder, fabricate metal, make lampwork beads, or fused glass) to locate classes.
Of course, this issue isn’t the only way to locate local jewelry making classes. I’ve got lots more ideas detailed in my article “Finding Jewelry Classes.” While there’s lots of free information on the Internet, nothing beats a hands-on jewelry making classes.
